SHIBIRE-NOODLES Rousokuya specialises in shibire — the lip-tingling numbness of Sichuan peppercorns — and puts it front and centre in a concise menu of boldly seasoned noodle dishes. The restaurant is a collaboration that marries Japanese ramen craft with Chinese spice tradition, resulting in bowls that are both deeply flavoured and distinctly original. The signature noodles arrive in rich, aromatic broths with varying levels of heat and numbing intensity, allowing diners to calibrate the experience to their liking. Side dishes and rice options round out the menu, and the drink selection includes beers and highballs that pair well with the spicier offerings.
Located on the third floor of the Omotesando Hills main building, the restaurant is a convenient stop during a shopping trip or gallery visit. It is walkable from both Omotesando and Harajuku Stations. Lunchtime can be busy, so an early or late lunch is recommended to avoid the longest queues.

I’m Japanese native lives in Singapore. Came here during my holiday in Tokyo. Their food standard is great! Their spicy soup made me feel numb which I like that kind of taste. Price -wise, to me it’s reasonable with the quality of soup and noodle. Recommend to go there once. I’ll definitely visit here again when I go back to Tokyo.

A soba shop serving delicious numbing chili pepper noodles. We tried both the Sichuan style sesame hot dry noodle and the mapo noodle. I personally prefer the latter as it has a higher spice and numbing level.

This is authentic, accessible heat. Located on the 3rd floor of the high-end Omotesando Hills, this spot maintains a simple, approachable atmosphere despite its luxury surroundings. I skipped their famous Mapo noodles for this visit. Not just because of the heat, but because I wasn't in the mood for the "tofu and cheese" combination, which felt a bit too experimental for me that day. Maybe next time! Instead, I went with the Dan Dan noodles at medium spiciness. It was perfect for my taste: it delivered that addictive Sichuan numbing sensation (Mala) without being overwhelming. It’s a great choice if you want traditional flavors done well. Also, a special mention for the beer! It was the perfect "fire extinguisher" for the spice. Highly recommended for a satisfying, reasonably priced meal in Omotesando.

I was glad to find that despite the restaurant being packed, and a ten minute wait in line before entering, I was the only tourist. So not a tourist trap…They also take your order while you wait in line and then serve you within a minute of …
